Steve Ryan

Kickboxing/ Kenpo/ Sport karate

A martial artist since the age of 6, Steve has a 3rd degree blackbelt in Kenpo Karate with over 18 years experience. Steve has been instructing Kenpo, Sport Karate, and Kickboxing for a number of years, and has been competing since 1995. A leader on our Academy competition team, Steve is a tournament star on the local scene who has also travelled accross Canada, to Greece and South Africa as a member of the Canadian National Kickboxing Team. Over his tournament career, Steve has collected a number of prestigious awards that include the Canadian national title belt and two gold medals at the WPKA world championships. His deep roots in the martial arts contiune to grow through disciplined training, high level competition and through passing his knowledge and experience on to those he teaches.

Selected accomplishments:

1999- Received black belt under Mike Foley Sr.
1999- Competed at the Ontario Provincial Open
2001- Received 2nd degree black belt under Mike Foley Sr.
2003- Gold medal Iceberg Classic provincial championships.
2004- 2 x Gold Medal WPKA World Championships, Greece
2004- Received 3rd degree black belt under Mike Foley Sr.
2007- Won full contact kickboxing debut at "Shockwave"
2009- Won full contact kickboxing bout at "Shockwave 2
2011- 2 x Gold medal Team Canada vs Team South Africa, SA.
2011- Canadian Kickboxing Championship title belt (-81kgs - LK).

Certifications:

•  3rd degree black belt in kenpo karate.
• CPR and First Aid.
• CASK Level 1 nationally certified kickboxing coach.
